Steve Manos - A Long History of Successful Leadership

WHO IS STEVE MANOS?

Steve Manos currently serves on the Lake Elsinore City Council. Steve was raised in Lake Elsinore where he spent his formative years. He is a small business owner that serves the Western Riverside County region for more than two decades. Steve is in his second term of office on the City Council. He was appointed to lead the City as Mayor in 2015 and 2019..

Steve holds other offices as an appointed or elected representative for numerous regional organizations. He is the Vice Chairman of the Riverside County Habitat Conservation Authority. Steve is currently Chairman on the Airport Land Use Commission, which represents the cities of Corona, Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, and Wildomar on the Southern California Association of Governments. He also represents nearly all California cities as the State Director for the League of California Cities. Steve was recently honored to be selected as Second Vice President of the Riverside County Division of the League of Cities.

 

Accomplishments

During his term so far Steve has been proud to improve public safety by voting to staff and re-open the Rosetta Canyon Fire Station and by adding police officers to the City’s police force. He serves on several key city committees that have promoted city beautification, arts and culture, and youth engagement. He has supported policies to fight homelessness, clean our public parks and beaches, and implemented programs to cure blight in our neighborhoods.

Interests

He has a great passion for economic development. During his term he has actively recruited new businesses – hundreds of new businesses have opened in Lake Elsinore since 2012 bringing over one thousand new jobs. He has been a relentless, unapologetic ambassador for the city.

His Past

Prior to taking elected office Steve took pleasure in being a devoted volunteer and charitable contributor having served at the local school district, his church, and community. He is a founding member of Lake Elsinore’s major disaster Citizen Emergency Response Team.

Born in Santa Monica and raised in Lake Elsinore, Steve is a Lake Elsinore resident for over three decades. He has been happily and continuously married since 1999. Steve and his wife, Veronica, met as teenagers and are both Temescal Canyon High School alumni. Veronica is a cancer survivor. They are raising four wonderful children who are following in their footsteps.
